**** JUDGEMENT DAY DOC'S ****
1).... ABOUT MYSELF
2).... ABOUT JUDGEMENT DAY
3).... DISK INFORMATION
4).... DOMINION CONTACT
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1). ABOUT MYSELF:
Hello, I am Leyton Lindley Judgement Day Programmer. I am 20
years of age and I am currently studying computing at the Norfolk
College in Kings Lynn.
As all Programmers know, finishing a game is a real pain!!!
This is the first game I have actually released into the Public Domain
because all of the other games I have written never seem to get
finished which is a bit of a shame.
When Peter Littlewood (Graphic Artist) and myself started
writing Judgement Day we had no intention of releasing it, the only
reason we wrote it was because we were bored during the summer
holidays. We designed it during a Sunday afternoon and I programmed
the basic structure of the game in a week. The game seemed to be
developing quite well so more and more ideas were included, and now
you have the final product.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2). ABOUT JUDGEMENT DAY:
Judgement Day was written in assembly language using HiSoft's
Devpac 3 assembler.
Judgement Day is freely distrubutable but the files on this
disk must not be changed. If you wish to give a copy to a friend you
may like to initialise the hi-scores as the Hall-Of-Fame is saved to
the disk each time you enter a new name. A program has been supplied
on this disk which will initialise the names and scores. Simply
execute the program 'Reset_HS' from a CLI prompt or Workbench.
I don't think it is really necessary for me to tell you how to
play the game because the game play is very basic. For information on
the game:- click on the 'INFO' box on the menu screen and this will
show you the story-line, in game keys, hall of fame and the credits.
Judgement Day has been tested and proved to work on:
A500 1.3/+
A600
A1200 with/without: Fast RAM/CPU Upgrade/FPU Upgrade.
(JUDGEMENT DAY REQUIRES AT LEAST 1MB OF MEMORY TO RUN)
The game was not tested on an A4000 but their should not be
any problems because it works on an upgraded A1200.

3). DISK INFORMATION:
It is important that the disk is write enabled because as
mentioned earlier in this document the high scores are saved to disk
when new names are entered. If the disk is write protected the game
will halt or even crash when it attempts to save the high scores.
This is the only technical problem I have had. (Sorry!)
Once the disk is booted the first program which is loaded
will check the disk is write enabled. If it is write protected you
will be asked to remove the disk and write enable the disk. The
program also shows if your computer has the aga chipset present and
how many system bytes are free.
The main file JD.EXE (The actual game) has been crunched
using Power Packer 4 so that I could fit everything onto the disk.
****** Hard Disk ******
If you wish to INSTALL JD onto your hard disk then follow these
instructions:
1). Copy all files from the JD game disk apart from the devs,l and s
directory to your hard disk (Place these files where you wish). You
can do this from a cli or shell using the copy command but I would
recommend using a file utility such as Directory Opus.
2). Once you have the files on hard disk you must ASSIGN Judgement
Day to the full path name of where you put it. Place the following
into your startup-sequence with other Assign commands.
For Example: Assign JD: DH1:GAMES/JD
^
Insert full path name here
